In October of 2002, deep in the heart of Springfield, the most dangerous city in Missouri, the residents of 1107 Walnut Street got behind their instruments and set out to conquer the evil axis of watered-down, middle-of-the-road buttrock that dominated the city’s clubs and radio stations. The members of this new “Walnut Street Gang” hailed from St. Louis and Kansas City, Mo., where the streets were rough and the rock was rougher, yet they understood that the mainstream juggernaut would be a mighty foe even for their experienced and versatile rocking skills. In order to crush this wicked opponent, they decided to use the most enduring and powerful weapons in rock’n’roll— the Guitar, the Bass, the Drums, and a Singer— as well as the unstoppable blitzkrieg called PUNK ROCK.
